Winter Celebrations

Southern Christmas Show
Located at the Park Expo & Conference Center on Briar Creek Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday-Tuesday and until 9 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday, the Southern Christmas Show is one of the largest shopping events, providing holiday gifts, decor, and entertainment for all ages. Walk down Christmas Tree Lane or even visit the Kids Craft Corner to write a letter to Santa. This is an event you won’t want to miss, and it only runs from November 8th-18th.

The Polar Express Train Ride
Visit the NC Transportation Museum and take the Polar Express train ride complete with an interactive show, hot chocolate, and a silver bell of your own. This train runs from 4-8:30 p.m. so be sure to check the schedule and get tickets in advance.

Carowinds WinterFest
From November 18 – December 31, the Carowinds WinterFest is helping North Carolina folks celebrate the holidays in a big way. There will be live shows, wandering performers, and a 70-foot Christmas tree along with other displays to see. Also, take part in the many holiday activities that can be found on the grounds.

Speedway Christmas
With over 3 million lights and illuminated displays, you won’t want to miss driving the 3.5 miles through this Christmas wonder at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Speedway Christmas. At the end, there’s a drive-in movie theater showing holiday classics as well as a holiday village providing food, drinks, and gift vendors for a little shopping.

Holidays at the Garden
The Daniel Stowe Botanical Graden presents Holidays at the Garden, a winter wonderland of twinkling light displays, live music, and plenty of activities for the kids. So start off your holiday season by strolling through the illuminated gardens with the family.
