We were more than thrilled to finally get some details on the all-new Toyota Tacoma, which is better than ever. It features ramped-up performance, new styling, and incredible new off-road capabilities. Toyota engineers certainly went all out on this new model.

The Tacoma off-road capability is something Toyota wanted to focus on for this new model. The 2016 Tacoma features an all-new powertrain, enhanced suspension, and a high-strength steel frame. According to Toyota, the new Tacoma also utilizes a new hot-stamping technique that ensures the high-strength body shell remains as light as ever.

“For the past 50 years adventure-seeking Americans have relied on Toyota trucks to take them places, on and off-road,” said Bill Fay, group vice president & general manager. “The all-new homegrown Tacoma is a tough truck designed, developed and built for lifestyles of the young and young-at-heart.”

The new Tacoma also features a TRD Off-Road grade with a multi-terrain select system that allows the driver to switch between loose rock, mud, and sand options. By regulating wheel spin and throttle, you’ll always have maximum traction. With all of these new features, the 2016 Tacoma may just become the new king of off-road pickups.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the 2016 Tacoma here at Toyota of Gastonia. Stay tuned to our blog and social media to find out when you can test drive the newest Toyota truck!
