Toyota Begins Countdown to 2015 Special Olympics

April 30th, 2015 by

The countdown to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games is now officially underway, and there are less than 100 days left! Toyota has the privilege of serving as the Official Automotive Partner for this year’s Games and is kicking off the pre-season by supporting the athletes and their Journey to the Games, which will take place in Los Angeles.

Along with fundraising activities on the national and local level, Toyota will engage fans around the world as they #ShareTheJourney in social media conversations and visit Toyota’s dedicated website, where they will find information on the athletes and watch the Flame of Hope as it journeys to LA for the Opening Ceremony. In addition, the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles will paint the city in celebration of the Special Olympics World Games and the athletes that make them so special.

Of course, the Games will be well-supplied with 400 Toyotas to escort honored guests.

“This is an incredible opportunity to support a truly global event and we’re taking a holistic approach, from our sponsorship investment at the national level, support vehicles and engaging local fundraising efforts across the country to the hundreds of Toyota employees who will volunteer at the World Games,” said Jim Lentz, Toyota North America CEO. “The world is coming to Los Angeles and we are proud to join the Special Olympics World Games and support our shared values of acceptance and inclusion.”

Will you join us at Toyota of Gastonia as we follow the journeys of these inspiring athletes?
