Fast Company magazine has recently named Toyota as one of the world’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, in reference to the company’s groundbreaking research and technology in the industry of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Fuel Cell vehicle

This comes a couple of months after news that Toyota would grant use of thousands of their hydrogen fuel cell patents, in hopes of increasing the production and usage of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles all over the world.

Additionally, Toyota’s Mirai vehicle was one of the first fuel cell vehicles to sell commercially, the beginning of an international trend that will have a radical long-term effect on the environment.

Concerning the auto company, Fast Company said, “While other automakers are experimenting with fuel cells as niche vehicles, Toyota is the only one to engineer a global release, making all of its fuel-cell components in house.”
