It's nice to have a range of engine options to choose from to ensure you'll get the supreme performance you desire. The Ford F-150 offers up six engine options, each one boasting its own unique perks:

HORSEPOWER
|
TORQUE (LB-FT)
|
|---|---|---|
| 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6 | 290 | 265 |
| 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 | 325 | 400 |
| 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 | 400 | 410 |
| 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 | 400 | 500 |
| 3.0-liter Power Stroke® turbo diesel V6 | 250 | 440 |
| High Output 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 | 430 | 570 |
The Ram 1500, on the other hand, only has three powertrain selections for you to choose from. While each truck offers a diesel motor for added miles per gallon, it falls short when it comes to power output. With an output of 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, its available V8 engine falls short of the available High Output motor in the F-150.
One of the first elements to consider when selecting your next pickup is towing capacity. When properly equipped, the 2021 Ram 1500 can tow a respectable 12,750 pounds. However, the 2021 Ford F-150 takes this up several notches with an available maximum towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds with the right equipment.
If you want added flexibility for hauling everything from supplies across the worksite to an RV to the campsite, you may find the Ford F-150 sets you up for greater success.
Along with that, it also offers Selectable Drive Modes that enable you to precisely tailor your truck's performance while you drive. The lineup includes Normal Mode, ECO Mode, and Sport Mode, as well as:
Unfortunately, you won't find a comparable drive mode selection in the Ram 1500.
For a bit of luxury on the road, you can upgrade both of these trucks' cabins with optional leather seats. The 2021 Ford F-150 takes your comfort even more seriously, though. It offers seats with available Active Motion® massaging technology that provide you with a spa-like experience on the go.
Once the time comes to get back to work, the optional Interior Work Surface in the 2021 Ford F-150 enables you to use your laptop, fill out paper, and more from just about anywhere. Simply slide up the work surface when you need it and slide it back into place along the seat when you finish up.
The Ram 1500 also does not offer a similar feature to this one.
