The Toyota Avalon gets its power from a 3.5L V6 engine that produces a commanding output of 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. You’ll also get a standard six-speed automatic transmission with available steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters that allow you to control the gear shifting. In spite of its confident output, you’ll still get an EPA-estimated 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg city.

• XLE – With a starting price of $33,250*, the base trim features luxury at the very start with heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a Smart Key System with Push Button Start. You’ll also get a 7-inch Entune™ Audio Plus with Navigation App touchscreen and the Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) package of driver assist safety features.
• XLE Plus – Starting at $35,000*, the XLE Plus tacks on the Smart Key System on the front passenger door. It also includes a power adjustable sunroof with a sliding sunshade, as well as a HomeLink universal transmitter and garage door opener.
• XLE Premium – Make the move up to the XLE Premium for $36,450*, and you’ll get a nine-speaker stereo upgrade, as well as memorized driver settings and Qi wireless smartphone charging. This trim also adds blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts.
